What is co-op
Green Bar

It is a cooperative relationship between employers of the community & public schools to train students in the world of work.

It is for Juniors & Seniors 16 to 20 years of age.

Co-Op offers on the job training to students in their chosen field by the qualified people in the business & industry.

It establishes a link between business, home, & school, allowing employers an influential voice in education.

Co-Op can provide you with training in hundreds of occupations, & will offer classroom instruction in topic such as:

Career Exploration Entrepreneurship Overview Employability skills
Work Ethic/Job Safety Civic Responsibility Employers Expectations & Employees
Advancement Life management Skills Business Psychology

For the student-(Full year 2 credits)

How Co-Op Works
Green Bar
In The Classroom!    
Co-Op bridges the gap between textbook theory & the realities of the world of work.
The student enrolled in academic subjects as well as a class related subjects.
The bona fide training experiences may be scheduled during part of the school day, after school, or on the weekends.
     
On The Job!    
The student is supervised by trained, experienced employees according to a pre-planned schedule of work experience.
The student becomes a member of the business organization's staff of employees on a part-time basis, receiving regular wages.
     
How To Apply For Co-Op?    
1. Fill out a co-op application at the vocational office
2. Submit your application, resume and reference letter.
