Builders Club

The Builders Club is the middle school affiliate of the Old Town/Orono Kiwanis Club.  Though only in its third year, members of the Builders Club are very active in the community.  A variety of fundraisers are carried out by the Builders Club and money raised is donated to a charity decided on by the club members.  Some organizations that the club has worked with in the past include Toys for Tots, Crossroads Ministries, the Meadows (of Old Town) and Orono Commons .  In addition to raising money for charity, the Builder’s Club also performs service throughout the community, including planting a flower garden.  The Builder’s Club has been very successful in developing leaders for the Key Club.   Builder’s Club Adviser: Liz Mares : liz.mares@mail.otsd.org; phone: (207) 827-3900 ext. 233

They simply fill out an application and attend the required meetings on Friday afternoon. Activities sponsored by the Student Council include Themed School Dances, Special Spirit activities like Winter Carnival, the talent show and the MEA festival.  Leadership activities like outdoor adventure and running their own meetings, and service activities like coordinating the big school food drive and doing community service projects are also undertaken by the members.  Once a student joins the Student Council, they stay a member for their entire stay at LMS.   Leonard Middle School Student Council Adviser: John Keane : john.keane@mail.otsd.org phone: (207) 827-3900
