New Scholarships

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION – MAINE CHAPTER 329

Eligible             Graduating high school senior (male or female); desire a career in construction, construction management, architecture, civil, mechanical, structural, or electrical engineering; must be enrolled as a full time student.

Amount            $500.00

THE LEAGUE FOUNDATION

The LEAGUE Foundation provides financial resources for America’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender youth to attend institutions of higher learning.

Three scholarships will be awarded to LGBT seniors graduating with at least a 3.0 GPA. Application deadline April.

Juniors Consider Engineering

Consider Engineering Take advantage of a UNIQUE Opportunity for High School Juniors Who Excel in Math & Science.

The four-day program offers nearly two dozen activities balancing personal values exploration with engineering experiments, discussion with University staff, students and industrially employed engineers, and problem solving challenges. Applications for admissions to Summer Program are in guidance. Program runs, July 12 – 15, July 19-22, and July 26-29. The Application must be received before May 1, 2009.

Honors Diploma program - upcoming events!

Honors Diploma students, listen up! You have four upcoming events listed on
the web page.

On Wednesday, March 4th, after school in the cafetorium, a seminar titled
"Art Through Microscopy"

On Wednesday, March 18th, after school, a visit to the University of Maine
Honors College to learn more about the college, hear from some OTHS
graduates in the Honors College, and see the new Thompson Honors Center.
Juniors and Seniors are especially encouraged to attend! Permission slips
for the bus will soon be available in the guidance office.

On Thursday, March 26th, a mentor/mentee meeting during ATS in the
cafetorium

On Wednesday, April 1st, after school, a seminar in the cafetorium titled
"Why Video Games are Good For You!"

Seniors, remember to be working hard on your exhibition projects! In order
to earn an Honors Diploma, your projects must be of SUPERIOR quality!
