Summer Programs

The University of Maine will be offering their Creative Design at CAD Camp once again this year. Sponsored by the College of Engineering from July 5 – 10 grades 9 -12. If interested applications are in guidance and http://www.umaine.edu/met/cadcamp/

MAGIC (Mentoring A Girl In Construction)  will be officering a summer camp this year for girls entering grade 9 – 12 it will be held at UTC from June 22nd – 26th . Information will be in the guidance office.

 

College Visit

University of Maine Machias will be in guidance of Monday March 23rd at 2:00.

 

NESCOM will be in guidance on Thursday March 26th at 2:00

Summer Camps at The University of Maine Fort Kent

Nursing Discovery Camp June 29 – July 2

The Nursing Discovery Camp gives high school students an introduction to the wide variety of career opportunities in nursing and allows students to job shadow registered nurses in the clinical setting. This camp would be an ideal experience for any student interested in the healthcare professions.

The Technology Camp June 29 – July 2

The Technology Camp allows students to discover the wide variety of career opportunities in computer science through the use of innovative and fun activities. This camp would be an ideal experience for students interested in any area of computer technology.

Summer Work

Maine Conservation Corps is looking for people to join their Field Team Program. These teams work throughout the state building trails, and are comprised of young men and women from all areas of Maine. The work is challenging, and the rewards are many. The people who serve carry enduring memories of good times and good friends for years to come.  

 

Qualifications: Have the ability to live and perform strenuous work under challenging conditions, have the desire to learn and serve with others to make a difference, be at least 18 years old, and must be a US citizen.

Scholarship for 9-12 graders

In conjunction with the NextGen Most Improved Student Program, the Portland Sea Dogs are proud to announce the fourth annual “NextGen Field of Dreams Scholarship” for three deserving students.

 

Three $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded; one to each of the following grade level groups: K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The goal of the Sea Dogs Scholarship is to inspire all students to go to college.

Junior League and Senior League Sign ups


There are flyers in Room P8 for ASA softball. Girls ages 13-17 are eligible to sign up. Boys ages 13-17 can sign up for Junior league and Senior League Baseball. The sign up dates are Thursday March 26th, Thursday April 2nd, and Thursday April 9th. Sign ups will be from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Old Town Union Hall on South main street. Students can see Mr Quimby or drop by P8 for flyers.
