Congratulations to Emily!

Emily Lovejoy has applied for the United States Senate Youth Program Scholarship:

 

It was a process of different stages the first stage was to take a test with us here in guidance. The test was sent in and scored. She was identified as one of the ten highest scores in the state and will be invited to participate in the State competition. This competition will be held in Augusta on November 23, 2009. At this all day event, a selection committee will choose two winners to represent Maine in Washington, D.C. in March 2010.

 

In addition to the trip to Washington, D.C., with all expenses paid, winners will each receive a $5,000 scholarship.

 

When you see Emily congratulate her and wish her luck on her next step to winning this scholarship.

CLYDE RUSSELL SCHOLARSHIP

 

Eligible             -Graduating Maine Citizens who will attend either a college or university or a Maine Technical (Community) college

Amount            -$2,000.00 Technical College - $5,000.00 Four-year College

To Apply          -Ask for application in the guidance office or www.clyderussellscholarshipfund.org

Deadline           -February

 

University of Maine Open House

To all the students who have signed up for the UMaine Trip Monday November 9th,

all permission slips need to be turned in to guidance no later then Thursday the 5th.

You will not be able to attend if paperwork is not passed in on or before the 5th.

 

Drill Competition Results - Spaulding HS in Barre, Vermont

The Old Town High School Army JROTC Drill Team and Color Guard participated in a New England regional drill and color guard competition hosted by Spaulding High School located in Barre, Vermont this past Saturday.  The teams received trophies in the following areas:  1st Place, Platoon Armed, 2 Place, Color Guard, 2nd Place Squad Unarmed, 2nd Place Squad Armed and 3rd Place Platoon Unarmed.  Cadet T. Neal received a 3rd Place medal in Individual Drill Review without Arms.  Old Town cadets received a trophy in every drilling category!  There were 8 schools in attendance at the event, with over 120 cadets in competition for trophies and medals.  Mega Hoo-ahs!
