Full-time M-F evening shift.
- Must possess excellent team building skills.
- Must communicate effectively with co-workers.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Valid DOE Fingerprinting Certification (or application submitted upon hiring.)
- Work includes lifting, climbing, standing, and bending.
- Ability to independently perform work requested including physical activity requirements.

RSU #34 seeks 2 talented Special Education Teachers starting in the 2018-2019 school year to work with Middle School or High school students with special needs in the areas of literacy, math, social skills and executive functioning. Experience working with students and instructional programs at these grade levels are preferred. Must hold a valid Maine DOE CHRC and 282 Certification.

RSU #34 seeks talented Ed Tech I's & III's that are positive, flexible and willing to learn within a variety of educational settings. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training.
Qualified candidates would have applicable Maine Department of Education Ed Tech Certification and CHRC (fingerprint and background check).

Leonard Middle School:

Leonard Middle School seeks a talented, student-focused, and versatile teacher to teach, lead, and coordinate services for Chapter 104 (Gifted & Talented) students. The successful candidate will identify, plan for, and attend to students’ academic, social, and emotional needs in coordination with colleagues. RSU #34 serves Chapter 104 students in an individualized and flexible way, making use of a mixture of core classes, small-group and individual work, specialized classes, independent studies, etc. to meet student needs.
Characteristics of the successful applicant include initiative, creativity, interpersonal skills with young adolescents and adults, responsibility, and organization. Additional characteristics include interest in a variety of fields, verbal/written skills, advocacy skills, knowledge of the needs of Chapter 104 students, and skills to help students develop and achieve high aspirations.
Maine Gifted & Talented (690) Certification or Endorsement Required.

Art educator

Leonard Middle School is a 6th-8th grade middle school with approximately 315 students. RSU 34 and LMS are seeking an innovative and inspiring Art educator.
Applicants with a deep appreciation for a diversity of middle level learners, a student-centered approach, experience with standards based assessment, and a passion for integrated learning are encouraged to apply
There is a strong culture of communication, collaboration, and cooperation among staff, students, and families. The school fosters student growth through unique and varied experiences for the students, strong instructional programming, and dedicated staff doing “what’s best for students.” Experience teaching middle level-aged students preferred but nor required.
Candidates must possess or be eligible for Maine Department of Education Visual Arts Teacher certification (Endorsement 620) and Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification.
