Thursday, October 17, 2019

On October 7th, Colonel Frederick Toti of the U. S. Army announced that Old Town High School JROTC has earned "Honor Unit with Distinction" status.  OTHS is one of only two Army JROTC programs in the state to earn this honor, and has held the honor continuously since 2006.

The distinction was awarded "for maintaining exceptionally high standards of performance in all areas of the program," according to Col. Toti's announcement.  OTHS earned very high points through the JROTC Program Accreditation visit, and maxed out possible points for participation in program activities.

OTHS JROTC has 83 cadets, led by student Battalion Commander Gracie Sanborn.  Staff leaders are LTC Szewc and 1SG Peaslee.

Congratulations JROTC!
