The Education Foundation in RSU 34 was formed in 2012 as a way for the school department to support several initiatives for our students. The mission of the foundation simply helps to facilitate student development, encourage excellence through creative learning, and promote community/school partnerships. The RSU 34 foundation have recently supported several initiatives that demonstrate all the excellence RSU 34 Schools have to offer.
The Education Foundation has a board of directors to oversee the foundation’s efforts and fundraising. The group meets three times a year to oversee the various projects and partnerships. Currently serving as the president and secretary, Jeanna Tuell, serving as the treasurer, Janelle Libby, and serving as the Vice President, David Walker, Superintendent of schools. Over the past few years, the committee has worked to establish several subcommittees to support students in RSU 34. The Restore the Pride group has developed Victory Field. The Children’s Fund has worked to support the ongoing financial needs of students in the district. The Alumni Committee has worked to develop a database for graduates of Old Town High School and to promote ongoing connections between the current high school student with alumni of OTHS. The Innovative Education Committee has funded teacher projects that spark and excite all learners in the district. The Athletic Hall of Fame has inducted several classes of honorees into the Old Town Athletic Hall of Fame. This spring the Achievement Hall of Fame inducted 12 new members into the Achievement Hall of Fame.
The Education Foundation in RSU 34 is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. In order for us to continue to fund all of these incredible opportunities, we are reliant on the communities of RSU 34 and the Alumni Association of OTHS. We hope you’d consider supporting these initiatives.
