December 14, 2018

Dear LMS Community,

We have an ugly sweater dance tonight from 6:00 – 8:00.  I think it is best for me to refrain from any jokes about ugly sweaters.

Next week we have our band concert at Hauck Auditorium on the UMO campus at 7:00 on December 19.  Next Friday, December 21 is a full day of school and is our last school day before the holiday break.

Mr. Hanson sent some probation letters home this week.  Probation letters are a reminder that a student may need to improve attendance, behavior, or academics.  They are meant to help students be successful by catching a trend before it becomes a problem.  If your child received a probation letter please take a few minutes to talk with them about their progress at school and see if you can create some solutions with them.  Please know that we are working to help every child succeed especially the children that are placed on probation.

Mr. Hanson also sent out some ineligibility letters this week. An ineligibility letter means that the earlier probation letter did not induce enough improvement and we need to make serious changes in attendance, behavior, or academics.  Students that receive an eligibility letter are in a hole and they need your help and our help to dig their way out. Mr. Hanson met with every student that is ineligible today and they began planning the path out of their hole.

Enjoy the weekend.

Sincerely,

David Crandall
