Adult & Community Education Director

RSU 22, RSU 26, and RSU 34

RSU 22, RSU 26, and RSU 34 are seeking a full-time Adult & Community Education Director to lead a multi-district adult and community education partnership.

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Superintendents within the partnership, the Director is responsible for the organization, administration and supervision of adult and community education programs, including the adult education high school diploma program, as well as public/private partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and coordinates all adult education activities
  • Supervises the development of curricula and assessment systems
  • Hires, supervises, trains and evaluates support and instructional staff
  • Establishes and evaluates program offerings
  • Prepares and manages budgets following district financial protocols
  • Builds relationships with public and private entities to collaborate on new and existing programs
  • Directs and develops the maintenance of files, documentation and reports
  • Develops and implements marketing strategies to promote programs
  • Schedules use of facilities for all programs with local building administrators
  • Prepares and submits state reports as required
  • Attends regional and state adult education meetings
  • Participates in ongoing trainings and professional development opportunities
  • Supervises the granting of diplomas and certificates to students successfully fulfilling the requirements
  • Selects and oversees the purchase of program supplies and equipment
  • Presents program performance reports to partnership school districts and boards
  • Coordinate student services with high school staff and administration
  • Performs such additional duties as assigned by proper authority

Qualifications:

  • Current valid Maine Director of Adult & Community Education (066) certificate required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and related coursework required following certification (066) required; Master's degree in Educational Administration is preferred
  • Minimum three years teaching experience required, including teaching adult learners
  • CHRC approval required

OLD TOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Anticipated Literacy Intervention Educational Technician III Positions

Old Town Elementary School is seeking skilled, student-focused, and motivated applicants to serve students as Ed. Tech III literacy interventionists. These educators will serve students starting in the fall of 2019.

OTES is a Pre-K through 5th grade elementary school with about 600 students enrolled. There is a strong culture of communication, collaboration, and cooperation among staff, students, and families. The school fosters student growth through unique and varied experiences for the students, strong instructional programming, and dedicated staff doing “what’s best for students.” The following expectations are part of this role:

Music Educational Technician III Position

Old Town Elementary School is seeking a 32 hour a week music Educational Technician III. The OTES music program serves approximately 600 students in kindergarten through 5th grade. This Educational Technician will work primarily with kindergarten and first grade students while also assisting with other music programming and other school duties or activities.

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge and/or experience necessary to instruct kindergarten and first grade students in music
  • Knowledge and/or experience with instrumental or choral music preferred, but not required
  • Ability to plan and carry out annual concert events for kindergarten and first grade
  • Engage students in cohesive learning experiences to help them grow academically, behaviorally, and socially throughout the school year
  • Maintain supportive and effective classroom management
  • Maintain positive relationships with co-workers, students, and parents

Anticipated Physical Education Teacher

Old Town Elementary School is accepting applications for a K-5 Physical Education teacher position starting in the fall of 2019. Old Town high school

Assistant Girls Soccer Coach

Old Town High School is seeking an Assistant Girls Soccer Coach. The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization and administration of the Girls Soccer program and lead the Girls Junior Varsity soccer program. The successful candidate will have a passion for soccer and be able to work as part of the overall girls soccer coaching staff, should exhibit a commitment to high student achievement and support for all students, ability to teach fundamental skills and team concepts of soccer, have knowledge of current soccer rules and regulations, and ability to interact with student-athletes of different ages and soccer skill levels in a positive and professional manner.

Candidate must have some coaching experience, certifications for coaching or NFHS certs and CPR/First Aid credentials.
