5th Grade Ed Tech (March-June)

RSU 34 & Old Town Elementary School are seeking a 32.5 hour a week Ed Tech III (preferred) to assist with and support the students in the 5th grade from March through June 2021.

Position Requirements:

  • Must exhibit positive relationships with co-workers, students, and parents
  • Maintain confidentiality with student information
  • Engage students to review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom teachers
  • Assist in preparation of classroom materials and class management functions
  • Instruct and model skills with a variety of students and levels, sometimes using technology
  • Exhibit positive language and behavior skills as a model for children and families
  • Any other appropriate duties the supervisor deems necessary

Qualifications: Must have Ed Tech Certification, Criminal Background Check, Fingerprinting, and Reference Check

5th Grade Teacher (March-June)

Old Town Elementary School is seeking applications for a 5th grade teacher to join our staff for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year from March through June. OTES is a K through 5th grade elementary school, located near the University of Maine, that serves about 400 students. The school has a strong culture and reputation for high expectations and sound instructional practices to meet the varied needs of all our learners. A new professional joining our staff must have the following characteristics: a strong work ethic, a kind heart, and passion and openness for working with all students and their families. We also seek out additional skills in the following areas : knowledge of trauma-centered school beliefs, de-escalation techniques, and a classroom management style that includes small group and individual instruction models, meaningful discourse, and formative assessment to support a variety of learners.

LEONARD MIDDLE SCHOOL

LMS Long-Term Substitute—Remote Only

RSU #34 and Leonard Middle School in Old Town are seeking a qualified remote substitute to support fully remote sixth grade students, to start January 4. The successful candidate will build supportive learning relationships with sixth grade students, and communicate and coordinate learning with 6th grade teachers. Proficiency with Google Suite (particularly Google Classroom and Google Meet) is a must, and other technology skills are useful. The position is 4 days per week—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday—from 8:15 A.M. – 3:15 P.M. The candidate may work from home, as long as they have reliable Internet, capable of smoothly running Google Meet. Education background and teaching certificate are strongly preferred.

Pay will be $85 for the first 10 days, and $100 for days after that.

RSU #34 and Leonard Middle School seeks a talented Educational Technician III that is positive, flexible and willing to support students with complex needs. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training working in a self contained setting.

Alternative Ed - Ed Tech III

RSU 34 and Old Town High School is looking for an energetic and encouraging individual who is ready to learn and support students in our Alternative Education program. Applicants must understand the importance of forming relationships with students, along with working collaboratively with staff and community partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the day to day operations of the program
  • Assist students with their academic tasks; requires the ability to multitask and switch between varying subjects and levels.

Preferred:

  • Experience with gardening
  • Experience leading outdoor activities in all seasons

Applicants need to be comfortable with outdoor activity throughout the entire school year.

This is a full-time position.

MDOE Certified Educational Technician III or able to be certified.

JV Baseball Coach

RSU 34/OTHS is currently looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate to serve as the JV Baseball Coach for our High School Baseball upcoming spring season.
