RSU #34 seeks talented Ed Tech I's, II's & III's that are positive, flexible and willing to learn within a variety of educational settings. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training.

Qualified candidates would have applicable Maine Department of Education Ed Tech Certification and CHRC (fingerprint and background check).

ALTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Part time (.65 FTE) position for a literacy and math interventionist, also to provide daily core math instruction.

RSU #34 and Alton Elementary seeks a skilled, innovative, child centered professional to serve the Alton Elementary School providing regular ed interventions. The successful candidate will be familiar with the current standards, will differentiate instruction and utilize standards based assessment of skills to support Title 1 students in math and literacy. This position also will provide grade level core math instruction each day. Key characteristics of the successful applicant include an affinity for children, content and pedagogical expertise, strong skills working with students, families, and colleagues and attention to detail.

CHRC required and appropriate teaching certification preferred

Technology Teacher/Integrator

Old Town High School is looking for an outstanding Technology teacher to join their team at Old Town High School. The successful candidate should be a strong communicator, reflective of their classroom practices, a lifelong learner, and possess a strong understanding of technology, including, but not limited to – basic computer essentials, coding, social media and the ability to assist teachers in making better use of technology in their classroom.

A Maine 680 Computer Technology Endorsement is preferred, but we are willing to review applications for those working toward this endorsement.

Boy's Varsity Basketball Coach

Old Town High School is seeking a qualified, experienced coach for the boys’ basketball program.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  1. A strong commitment to oversee the basketball program at Old Town High School and utilize the experience of a team sport to teach important life lessons to all participants.
  2. Experience coaching basketball – which would include all aspects from organization and management to technical aspects of coaching.
  3. A commitment to growth and learning within the world of coaching and the game of basketball.
  4. A pledge to coach basketball at Old Town High School while instilling pride, work ethic, commitment and sportsmanship to all participants.
  5. American Coaching Effectiveness Program (ACEP) certified or a willingness to become certified.

JOB GOAL: To instruct athletes in the skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. Each athlete should be given appropriate instruction toward improvement, yet also understand, learn and demonstrate self-discipline, self-accomplishment and good sportsmanship. A willingness to work at building a program in the community that will support the future growth of the sport.

Alternative Education – Educational Technician III

Old Town High School is looking for an energetic and encouraging individual who is ready to learn and support students in our Alternative Education program. Applicants must understand the importance of forming relationships with students, along with working collaboratively with staff and community partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the day to day operations of the program
  • Assist students with their academic tasks; requires the ability to multitask and switch between varying subjects and levels.

Applicants need to be comfortable with outdoor activity throughout the entire school year.

This is a full-time position.

MDOE Certified Educational Technician III or able to be certified.
