
Athletic Events - Dec. 30th Week


Black Bears 🐻 home opener v. BOOM at the Alfond - Varsity with 32 shots on goal Baker with the loan goal 🥅 ending with a 1-1 overtime game - JV playing host to the final athletic events of the year as Brewer skated in - 7-4L for the JV 🐻's



OTHS Boys basketball 🏀 traveled to Ellsworth for a 3 game series that had the Yotes traveling home with 3 L's - 1st Team 64-38, JV 59-39, Var 61-29 - program has a week to settle and move forward till the next round of games!


The Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams were in action today in a large regular season meet, which included Bangor, Brewer, Hampden, Orono and four other schools, with both teams finishing in 4th place in the team results. Leading the way individually for the girls were Lucy Veilleux with a 1st in Triple Jump and 2nd in Long Jump, Ely Briggs 1st in High Jump, Lily Heitmann 1st in the 2 Mile, Kylee Murray 2nd in Shot Put, Liz Preble 4th in the Mile and Olivia Lizzotte 6th in Triple Jump. While the 4x800M Relay team of Lexi Wesley, Preble, Chloe Henry & Heitmann finished 2nd, and the 4x200M Relay team of Lizzotte, Mikayla Johnston, Olivia Barthelemy & Emily Wheeler finished 4th. Individually for the boys, Hayna Francis was 3rd in the 800 and 4th in Long Jump, Noah Briggs was 3rd in Triple Jump and tied 4th in High Jump, CJ Yanush in Long Jump and Killian Pottle in Shot Put both finished 3rd, while Cooper Neely in the 400, Kaiden Plourde in the 800, Kameron Plourde in the Mile, Parker Day in Triple Jump and Joey Porter in Shot Put all finished 5th. Also for the boys, the 4x800M Relay team of Neely, Kaiden Plourde, Kameron Plourde & Francis finished 1st and the 4x200M Relay team of Tyler Michaud, Neely, Kaiden Plourde & Yanush rounded in the scoring in 4th. The teams now have a break from competition for 2 weeks, returning to the track on January 11th.


NPV Swim Traveled downstate on Friday for a tri-meet v. Cony HS and JB - Teams and Individuals set multiple qualifying times - Despite missing a ton of people, Girls NPV Swim came home with 2 W's beating Cony and JB, Boys NPV Swim lost by 1 to Cony and beat JB.... nice day in the water


Girls Bball traveled down to Ellsworth for a post Holiday matchup that had the JV girls playing an exciting hard fought game 33-21 L - Varsity had to make it interesting in Overtime, but good shots and ball control allowed for a 55 - 46 W for the Varsity Squad!


OT Boys Basketball 🏀 over the river and through the woods to Orono tonight for the battle of the W presents 🎁 - 1st Team with the first W of the season for 35-24 (congrats on the first W as a Coyote Coach Jacobson) - JV with the W as well 60-39 - Varsity with the only L of the night 45-37 and moves to 2-4 on the season....


Holiday Week Events!


PC Wrestling at the King and Queen of the North event at the Alfond - Jack Murphy, Robbie Murry, Elijah Tinkle and Caleb Horne represented OT at this Event - Placing for OTHS was Robbie in 5th place in the 138 lb and Elijah tinkle 6th place in the 106 lb weight class!



The Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams were back in action tonight at U.Maine. The girls' team had a great team meet, finishing 1st in their 10 team meet. Leading the way individually for the girls were Ely Briggs with a 1st in the High Jump with a new school record jump of 5'-4.50" and a 2nd in Long Jump, Lucy Veilleux with a 1st in Long Jump and 3rd in Triple Jump and Olivia Lizzotte with a 3rd in the 55M and 4th in Long Jump, while the 4x200M Relay team of Lizzotte, Mikayla Johnston, Olivia Barthelemy & Ruby Whitmore finished 1st. Other point scorers for the girls were Kylee Murray 2nd in Shot Put, Lily Heitmann 2nd in the 2 Mile, Lexi Wesley 3rd in the 800M, Barthelemy 4th in the 400M, Liz Preble 4th in the Mile, Johnston 5th in the 55M, Whitmore 5th in the Hurdles, Crystal Thacker 5th in Shot Put, Ava Harvey 6th in Triple Jump and the 4x800M Relay team of Preble, Phoebe Yerxa, Chloe Henry & Heitmann finished 2nd. Leading the boys team to solid 3rd place finish in their 8 team meet with three individual 1st place finishes, the Mile, 800M & Long Jump, was Hayna Francis, while the boys also received points from Cooper Neely 2nd in the 400M, Noah Briggs 2nd in Triple Jump, Kameron Plourde 4th in the Mile, Parker Day 4th in Triple Jump, Kaiden Plourde 5th in the 800M, CJ Yanush 5th in the Hurdles, Joey Porter 5th in Shot Put, a 2nd by the 4x800M Relay team of Mason Choinere, DJ Davis, Noah Habtetsion & Max Ramos and a 3rd from the 4x200M Relay team of Tyler Michaud, Neely, Kaiden Plourde & Yanush. The teams return to action next Saturday morning, back at U.Maine.


1st Team Boys Basketball 🏀 with the second game of the season - Team got a great opportunity to play at the Cross Insurance Center as they took on JB 1st Team - Team showed some improvement by winning the first half 22 - 16 but ended a little behind 57 - 31 L


This time of year is about giving and taking care of your peers and community. Once again the Lady Coyotes step up and support the community by adopting selected families with food for a holiday dinner and gifts for the kids. Always a proud moment when our Coyotes take care of each other - great work Lady Coyotes!


The Lady Coyotes finished the Pony Swing today as they traveled to FA for some Saturday Basketball 🏀 - JV with the dominant win 50 - 10 FA Alum Coach Lanham not holding back on her alameda- Varsity with a last minute attempt to win falls 36 - 34 L and moves to 2-4 on the season.


NPV Swim with the home opener at the OT Community Pool - hosting BHA in the pool and the River Hawks come away with two W's - Girls 80 - 63/ Boys 95 - 39 - Also many swimmers hit the State cut times and qualified for post season meets!


🏀 Boys Basketball 🏀 traveling to the only town in Maine with two names i.e. FA - JV on the wood first coming away with a 42-38 W - Varsity slow started the game and finished strong on the shoulders of Byther come away with a 59 - 37 W!


LMS boys and girls basketball teams were in action tonight vs. Brewer. The boys made the journey where the A team came away with a tough loss, falling to the Witches by only two points. The B team took a commanding win 34-14. The girls played home where the B team played well but fell 29-24. The A team showed great team play, leading to a 41-31 victory! Shout out to Ira for winning Coach Griffins “grit” player of the game! Way to represent LMS tonight teams, have a great break!

Girls Basketball 🏀 traveled down route 9 to WA tonight for some Big East Basketball action! JV played a hard fought game but came up a couple points short 49 - 46 - Varsity battled out another W 40 - 34 and moving to 2-3 on the season.... FA on Saturday...


LMS Girls and Boys basketball teams were in action vs. Hermon this afternoon. The boys were on the road and despite some great effort both teams are returning with a loss. On the girls side, the "A" team started the night with some tough play against a talented Hawks team but ended with a 49-34 loss. The "B" team had a tough loss, but we were very proud of their "never quit" attitude. Teams are at it again Friday vs. Brewer.


NPV Swim opened up the season on the road to Messo for a night of swim. A tri meet that saw NPV, Messo, and GSA compete in the Alfond Pool - Many State Cuts times achieved tonight with a very promising season ahead for the RiverHawks! Home opener on Friday as we host Brewer/HA
