Mother Nature 🌬️ race was on yesterday as well hoped to beat the rain that never came! Coyotes rolled the dice 🎲 and welcomed the MDI Trojans to Victory field for some 🥎/ ⚾️ action! Softball came to play and rebound off the tight game the day before with a 11-1 W moving to 3-1 on the season. Baseball started sluggish but made a game of it as they suffered the first loss of the season 7-5 L and move to 3-1 as well..... Crusaders up next on Saturday for the Coyotes.

🎾 Tennis 🎾 action at Orono HS as we jumped on the long bus ride to the home of the Red Riots. Full run of matches played with the girls team finishing 4-1L and the Boys team keeping it close with a 3-2L. Girls move to 0-5 on the season and the boys are 2-3 on the season.

LMS Track & Field team got their season officially underway at Old Town High School. The team had a great showing with lots of new PRs, including the following top 5 finishers:
Libby Lebsack- 1st 800m racewalk and 5th 55m hurdles, Faelynn Briggs- 1st 55m hurdles and 1st high jump, Lucy Heitmann- 3rd 1600m and 2nd shot put, Stephen Cormier- 1st 1600m and 1st 800m, Connor Wilson- 4th 1600m, RJ Meigs-McDonald- 5th 1600m, Alex Gelo- 1st 100m, 1st 200m and 4th long jump, Caleb Heitmann- 2nd 100m and 2nd 200m, Beau Merry- 4th shot out, Graysen Henderson- 5th shot put, 3rd Girls 4x100m Relay made up of Briggs, Heitmann, Cadence Drost and Lainey Folsom. 1st Boys 4x100m Relay made up of Gelo, Heitmann, Keagan Benson and Carter Hashey.

LMS baseball and softball teams held their season openers today at home vs Brewer. Both teams ended with a loss. Softball final- 29-0 Baseball final- 10-0 Teams are back in action Monday vs MDI at home.

Coyotes traveled the Hawk territory for some Baseball/Softball action this afternoon. Close active game for the Softball 🥎 team as they battled to a 3-2 L - great outing for Sirois on the mound, teams are both strong and will face off later in the season. Baseball ⚾️, lead by a solid outing by Duty, and Preist, Carroll, Bean provided offense for a 8-6 W - Quick turn around for the Coyotes as they play MDI tomorrow

In an effort to try and avoid the rain on Thursday 4/30, LMS baseball/softball vs. Brewer has been moved up to tomorrow 4/28.
Baseball will play at OTHS, softball at LMS, game time 4:00.

Events, April 27th Week

The OTHS Girls and Boys Outdoor Track teams opened the season at home on Saturday in an eleven team meet at the Victoty Field Track Complex. The girls started the season off with a solid 2nd place finish behind very good Class A Hampden team. The girls were led by Olivia Lizzotte with a 1st in Javlin, 2nd in the 200 and 3rd in the 100, Lucy Veilleux with a 1st in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump and Ely Briggs with a 1st in High Jump with a New School Record jump of 5'-4.50" and a 3rd in Long Jump. Other point scorers were Addison Hill 1st in the 100 Hurdles and 6th in the 200, Olivia Ketch 1st in Discus, Linzy Heitmann 1st in the 1600 Racewalk, Taylor Loring 2nd in the 400, Phoebe Yerxa 2nd in Discus, Emma Ketch 3rd in Shot Put and 6th in High Jump, Lilly Hallett 4th in the 800 and Romlah Ojugbele 6th in Triple Jump. The team also received a 1st from the 4x800 Relay team of Meredith Cyr, Hallett, Liz Preble & Loring and a 2nd from the 4x100 Relay team of Lizzotte, Briggs, Hill & Veilleux. For the boys team, which finished 4th in the eleven school meet, they were led by Noah Briggs with a 1st in Triple Jump and 4th in Long Jump, Carter Osnoe 1st in Shot Put and Parker Day 2nd in Triple Jump and 5th in Long Jump. Also scoring points were Eric O'Connell 4th in Shot Put and 6th in Discus, Maximus Ramos 4th in the 1600, Austin King 5th in the 200, CJ Yanush 5th in Triple Jump, Marcus Cote 6th in Triple Jump, Sian Barrera 6th in Shot Put, while the 4x100 Relay team of DJ Davis, King, Logan Dodge & Luke Betters finished 2nd and the 4x400 Relay team of Yanush, Mackinnon Speed, Owen Dunn & Ramos finished 3rd. The teams are back in action, at home, next Saturday.

Suns out, let's play ball - Yotes welcome the Wildcats from the North to a Doubleheader Opening Day at Victory Fields! Softball 🥎 saw consistent offense with solid pitching to pickup 2 W's 15-0 & 9-5 - Baseball ⚾️ wanted to make it interesting with an extra inning, high scoring, come from behind, massive offensive display to earn 2 W's 13-12 & 18-10 over Presque Isle.

Well not the best baseball/softball weather but the Yotes played! First time for the teams to see the field as well welcomed the Eagles to Victory Fields - Baseball ⚾️ game 1 ended in a 3-3 tie, game 2 ended with a 9-0L - Softball 🥎 game 1 18-7W, game 2 ended with a 21-0W - Here's to some warmer weather!

Home opener for the Coyote Tennis 🎾 team as they host Orono Red Riots at the Community Courts! Boys team showed up with a 5-0 W and first win of the season, while the girls team saw 1 W from Senior Sophie Morgan but fell 4-1 and move to 0-2 on the season.... Ellsworth on Saturday!

Update on JV BB/SB Games v. Ellsworth - Due to field conditions, we are moving the Double-header v. Ellsworth to Wednesday, April 22nd, 12/2 PM - at OTHS Victory Fields

The first Spring competition is in the book as the Coyotes traveled to Hawk territory. Hermon come away with 2 W's as the Coyotes fell 4-1 and 3-2.
