The OTHS Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams closed out the season on Monday at the Class B Indoor Track State Meet at Bates College, with the girls finishing tied for 4th and the boys finishing 5th in the meet with over 30 schools competing. The girls were led individually by Elyannah Briggs who finished 1st in the HighJump, remaining undefeated in that event this season, with a jump of 5'-6.25", which increases her school record and also sets a new Class B State Meet record and she also finished 6th in the Long Jump. Lucy Vellieux finished 2nd in the Triple Jump and 3rd in the Long Jump, while other individual point scorers were Olivia Lizzotte 7th in the 55M Dash with a personal best time of 7.60 and Addison Hill 7th in the 55M Hurdles with a personal best time of 9.60, and the 4x200M Relay team of Lizzotte, Olivia Barthelemy, Lindsay Mockler & Hill finished 6th and the 4x800M Relay team of Barthelemy, Phoebe Yerxa, Chloe Henry & Meredith Cyr finished 7th. For the boys individually, Carter Osnoe led the way with a 2nd place finish in the Shot Put with a personal best throw of 48'-8.50", while Noah Briggs finished 4th in both the High Jump and Long Jump, Cullen Lothian was 8th in the Long Jump and the 4x200M Relay team of Aidan Sucy, Cooper Neely, Lothian & CJ Yanush also finished 8th. The coaches would like to congratulate and thank both teams on a very successful season. The teams do have four individuals who have qualified to compete at New England's in Boston at the end of the month, and they are Elyannah Briggs [High Jump), Lucy Vellieux (Long Jump), Carter Osnoe (Shot Put) and Noah Briggs (provisionally in High Jump).

The OTHS Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams turned in strong performances last night at the PVC Large School Championship Meet held at UMaine, with each team finishing up in third place, behind only two very good Class A schools, Bangor and Hampden. Leading the way for the girls were Lucy Vellieux with a 1st in Long Jump and a 3rd in Triple Jump and Ely Briggs who remained undefeated in the High Jump and finished 6th in Long Jump, while Addison Hill was 3rd in the Hurdles, Olivia Lizzotte was 5th in both the 55 and 200, Izzy Howard was 5th in the 2 Mile, Ruby Whitmore was 6th in the Hurdles and Chloe Henry was 6th in the 2 Mile. In the Relays, the 4x800 team of Olivia Barthelemy, Phoebe Yerxa, Henry and Meredith Cyr finished 4th and the 4x200 team of Natalie Fournier, Barthelemy, Lindsay Mockler and Hill finished 5th. For the boys, they were led by Noah Briggs with a 1st in High Jump, a 1st in Triple Jump and a 5th in Long Jump and Cullen Lothian with a 1st in Long Jump, while Cooper Neely was 3rd in the 800, CJ Yanush was 3rd in the Hurdles, Maximus Ramos was 4th in the 800, Carter Osnoe was 5th in the Shot Put and the 4x200 Relay team of Aidan Sucy, Neely, Lothian and Yanush and the 4x800 Relay team of Ramos, Lothian, Mason Choiniere and Neely each finished 3rd. The teams finish up the season on February 16th at the Class B State Meet at Bates College in Lewiston, beginning at noon.

It had a tournament feeling in Mackenzie Tonight as the OTHS JV Boys Basketball 🏀 advance to the next round in the Bunky Dow Cup Tournament with a solid effort against F.A. - boys pulled a 50-39 W off and advance to the championship round against Brewer, at Brewer on Monday, Feb. 9th at 7 PM - Huge thanks to Jay Baines and the OTHS Pep Band for assembling for the team and announcing the game! LMS (A) basketball teams finished out their season with our cross town rivals, the Red Riots of Orono this afternoon. The girl got the night started and although they were down a number of players due to illness, the young team held their own ending with a 30-21 loss. The boys wrapped up the night with a great team win 49-42! Congratulations on a great season!

LMS basketball teams have made it to their final week of play. Today, teams faced off against Doughty where the boys stayed home and girls were on the road. A girls final 45-16 loss, B girls final 40-23 win! Boys A final 52-45 loss, B team final 52-46 victory! Shout to our 8th graders who played in their last home game a an LMS coyote.
