
OTHS Athletics for the week of 1/9


OTHS Girls Basketball in action and wrapping up a very busy Athletic day for the Coyote Nation! Shiretowners at Mackenzie, but the Yotes maintain an undefeated record going 8-0 on the season with a 50-22W on the night - JV stepped up and played a challenging JV squad but came away with a 39-28W - JV in action on Monday at 5 PM…


OT Wrestling in action at the Warrior Clash tournament hosted at Nokomis High School!
Only 2 OTHS wrestlers today competed,
Elijah tinkle going 1-2 and Sam Charles going 2-1 taking second place overall…. Wrestling at Guilford on Wednesday!


The Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams both finished up in 4th place this morning in an 8 team meet at the UMaine Fieldhouse. The girls received individual victories from Grace Willey in the Hurdles & Ely Briggs in the High Jump and got a second place finish from Olivia Lizzotte in the Triple Jump. For the boys, Corbin Flewelling led the way with individual wins in the High Jump & Long Jump. The teams have a quick turnaround, as they are back in action with a make-up meet on Tuesday back at UMaine.


Today OTHS Athletic Community had the honor of welcoming the 9th class inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame - Please welcome the class of 2022 - Kate Laverdiere Bartumus - ‘01, Chad Hayes - ‘97, Tia Jackson - ‘14, Clem Labree - ‘90, Adam Richardson- ‘14, James Walsh - Coach


Boys Basketball 🏀 with the first games of the day, welcoming the Shiretowner’s to Mackenzie - Boys move to 7-2 on the season with a 74-42W - JV moving to 8-1 with a 76-34W as well - Boys hosting the Hawks on Wednesday!


Only Yotes in action tonight happened to be in the water as the Coyote Swim Team welcomed Gardiner Co-Op swim team to the OT Community Pool - Boys with the 2nd W of the season 72-30 - Girls swam strong but came up a little short with a 98-53 L… On the Road to southern Maine next Friday for the Swimming Yotes!


Saturday, Jan. 7th Mackenzie Gym and Old Town High School host the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2023 Inductees - The schedule is as follows for this event - Basketball BJV 12 PM/ BV 1:30PM - Induction Ceremony 3-3:30 PM - GJV 4PM/GV 5:30 PM - The induction ceremony will be livestreamed on our Coyote Events Network (YouTube) Channel - https://www.youtube.com/live/Vskq0bzIGVo?feature=share

Boys Basketball 🏀 flying into Hawk country tonight - Boys move to 6-2 with a 68-37W in Hermon - JV moves to 7-1 with a 59-50W as well on the night… Saturday the Shiretowners come to Mackenzie…


Girls Basketball 🏀 move to 8-0 on the season with a 49-21W tonight against MDI in Mackenzie Gym. Both girls teams came out strong tonight, JV started the winning night with a 35-13W and moving to 7-1 on the season. Shiretowners come rolling in this weekend on Saturday!


🤼 Wrestling Duel 🤼♀️ tonight at Camden Hills - Elijah Tinkle: 2-0, Sam Charles 1-1, Issac Tinkle: 1-1, Keane Burns 0-2 Saturday Warrior clash tournament at Nokomis!


Moving to 5-2 on the season tonight, the OTHS Boys Basketball 🏀 outplayed the Trojans of MDI to a 60-49W in Mackenzie gym. JV also had an impressive showing with a 63-38W in Mackenzie. Boys on the road to Hermon Thursday!

Couple of Basketball 🏀 games to finish out the year for the Coyote teams as they welcome down river rivals Orono to Mackenzie Gym - Ladies continue the wins with a 82-7W over the Red Riots - The Boys fell behind early and never caught up, 2nd L of the season with a 62-52L - onto the new year for the Yotes!



OT Swim 🏊♀️ on the road to Messalonskee HS for the last meet of the 2022 year…. Teams swam strong with the Boys team picking up the first win of the season with a 88-42 W, Girls team fell a little short with a 74-49 L - Swim team back at it Jan. 6th at the Community Pool!


After two postponements, the Girls & Boys Indoor Track teams finally got to open their seasons today with an 8 team meet at UMaine. The girls team came away with a first place team finish, led by double-digit individual points from seniors Grace Willey, Kayleigh Johnston & Cassidy Rackliffe, sophomore Lexi Wesley and frosh Olivia Lizzotte & Ely Briggs. While the undermanned boys team, led by 20 point performances each from seniors James & Jorden Cote, finished up 4th. The teams are back in action on Jan. 7th.


Lady Yotes continuing the home series tonight in Mackenzie as they welcome the MCI Huskies. Two solid games as the Varsity Girls pick up a 68-25W and continue the undefeated season… JV picks up another solid W with a 40-24 score… Varsity welcomes the Riots to Mackenzie on Saturday…


Boys Basketball 🏀 traveling to MCI tonight for some Thursday Night basketball - Men bounced back from a tough game the other night with a solid 81-48W against the Huskies. JV backed it up with an impressive 78-26W as well, team moves to 5-1 on the season and has another tough one on Saturday as the Riots come to Mackenzie!


Only two Old Town wrestlers competing tonight at team duels hosted at FA, Sam C went 1-1 and Keane B 2-0 on the day. Next meet is 1/4 in Camden.
