Speech Language Pathologist (Contracted)

Grade Level: K-12

Job location (city/town): Alton, Bradley, Old Town and Out of District Placement (Bangor)

Qualifications: Must hold a valid CHRC and be eligible for obtaining a 293-endorsement preference will be given to those who hold a Maine State License in Speech Language Pathology.

Position Description: Provide speech and language therapy approximately 6-8 hours week; direct, consultation and evaluations for children with variety of disabilities and work as an integral member of an educational team to provide high quality services to children with significant academic, behavioral, and social skills needs in out of district placements (Bangor) and for students in grades 9-12. Preference will be given to those with experience in Applied Behavior Analysis; Autism and other developmental disabilities; and behavioral management.

Physical Therapist, Part-Time

RSU #34 is looking for a licensed Physical Therapist. This position is part time (12-14 hours/week) working with students K-12. This is a contracted position, benefits are not offered.

Professional Duties

  • Responds to evaluation referrals for students with suspected disabilities or re-evaluation of students with identified disabilities.
  • Develops present level of function and an Individual Education Plan (IEP) with goals and objectives in conjunction with the IEP team
  • Implements service delivery to assigned students based on the goals, objectives, frequency/duration, and placement as determined by the IEP team
  • Maintains oral and written communication with educational personnel and parents
  • Works cooperatively with educational staff to identify areas where support is needed, including adaptation strategies

Ed Techs

RSU #34 seeks talented Educational Technicians that are positive, flexible and willing to learn within a variety of educational settings. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training. Accepting applications for Ed Tech I, II and III’s.

Qualified candidates would have applicable Maine Department of Education Ed Tech Certification and CHRC (fingerprint and background check).

ALTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Classroom teacher for a combined grades 3 and 4 class

Assistant Principal

RSU #34 is seeking an Assistant Principal for Leonard Middle School in Old Town, Maine. The Assistant Principal will contribute to a learning environment created for the unique social-emotional and academic needs of our 6th-8th graders. Candidates must have knowledge of, diverse experience in, and commitment to effective middle school philosophy and practice to support high achievement. They must also be versed, and preferably have experience in, restorative justice, RTI, differentiation, trauma-informed practice, instructional leadership, and supervision. In addition, the successful candidate will work and communicate effectively with students, families, and school faculty and staff in a diverse community, and use technology to support and communicate student and professional learning. Knowledge of and experience with BARR is an asset. The assistant principal is an active member of the district administrative team and supports school-wide initiatives and goals.

Maine Building Administrator (040) or Assistant Building Administrator (045) certification or eligible for a conditional certificate and criminal history record check required.

OLD TOWN HIGH SCHOOL

Baseball Coach

Old Town High School is seeking a Baseball Coach for the coming season. The successful candidate will need to have a flexible schedule, great communication skills, knowledge of the game, knowledge of MPA rules and guidelines, and the willingness to build on a very successful baseball program. The successful candidate must be or willing to be CHRC Certified and be willing to obtain CPR/AED certification. Other pieces of training may be required for MPA coaching certification.
