The Girls Indoor Track team sent three members of this year's team to the highly competitive 36th Annual New England Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston yesterday. Leading the way again was freshman Lucy Veilleux in the Long Jump, who finished 3rd (after being seeded 17th), the highest finish at Indoor New England's by an Old Town girl since 2005, and in doing so, extended her School Record in the LJ with a jump of 17'-10.75", which is the farthest any girl at OTHS has jumped in the Long Jump, Indoor or Outdoor. Also qualifying and competing for the girls yesterday were junior Kylee Murray in the Shot Put, who finished 26th, and was the 3rd best girl from Maine and sophomore Ely Briggs in the High Jump, who like Lucy and Kylee, was competing in her first New England Indoor Championship. Congratulations girls, it was a great day!
