A quick reminder, the last day of school is Tuesday June 18 and dismissal from LMS will be at 11:15.
Leonard Middle School musicians Cassidy Rackliffe (8th grade) and Aiden Palmer (7th grade) earned “Outstanding Musician” awards at the University of New Hampshire Jazz Festival this spring. Both students performed beautifully on two instruments; Cassidy on bass guitar/tuba and Aiden on bass guitar/clarinet. The UNH Jazz Festival is very selective when presenting this award. This is the first time in LMS history that two students have received it the same year. Congratulations Cassidy and Aiden!

LMS 8th graders are packed up and ready for their overnight at Camp Jordan! We leave at 8:30 today.

7th and 8th grade hiking elective groups on their capstone trip to Schoodic Mountain in Hancock, Maine! Great weather and great kids.

The LMS 8th grade attended the 25th annual Career Fair at The United Technology Center in Bangor. There were about 400 students. Local school counselors spent the year planning the event and there were 60 presenters.

A reminder that there is no chorus concert this evening.
Our 6th graders traveled to Portland this week to visit the Osher Map Library and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. For some, it was their first ever trip to Portland. For all, the learning was rich and hands on.

Our chorus concert, originally planned for Monday, June 3rd, has been cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Skateboard club is one of the many offerings during our EEE, exploration, enrichment, extended learning opportunities. A passionate student approached a teacher with an idea and together, they made it a reality! Shout out to Daymion and Mr. Jay. And don’t worry, they all wear protective equipment.

Lots of exciting things happening at Leonard Middle School today. 6th graders heading to Portland to visit the Osher Map Library and GMRI, 8th grade Career Fair at UTC, and then “Stuff That Matters” presentations all afternoon! Another day in the life an LMS student.

We just had a fire alarm at the middle school, it was a false alarm. All clear and back to learning.

Due to the weather and Brewer hosting a high school prelim game, our night games @ Brewer will now be played on 6/3 at 6:30pm. Our game vs Bucksport has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts. We are sorry for any inconvenience, but mother nature seems to have her own schedule this spring. Thank you.
