Art Program Donations: The OTES and Alton Elementary Art Departments, in partnership with the OTES Garden Committee, are in need of wood donations for an upcoming outdoor sculpture installation. We are in need of wood boards approximately 1-3' in length. All donated wood must be unfinished, no paint or stain, and free of any metal (screws, nails, staples, etc.). No logs please. If you have wood to donate, please do not drop it off without contacting Tiffany Palmer at tiffany.palmer@rsu34.org first. The OTES art room is also in need of donations of cardboard tubes of any size. Students have been busy making, making, making here in the art studio and cardboard tubes are in high demand. Donations can be dropped off in the school vestibule until December 30 or anytime after that. Thanks so much for your support of the arts!

Holiday Break Challenge: Are You Bored? Let Us Help You With That! This week, all students will be sent home with our Holiday Vacation Challenge. There is a flier with links to the read aloud and ideas for card games. Each student will come home with a deck of cards as well. Over this holiday break, beat the boredom blues by picking up a game and playing with the people around you! Title 1 Family Engagement funds has provided each student with a deck of cards. Mrs. Reesman has recorded “Barnacle is Bored” for you to listen to online and enjoy. There are so many fun things to do, there’s no reason anyone is bored over break! Send a photo of you playing a card game or other game to Mrs. Reesman (michelle.reesman@rsu34.org) for your chance to win a fun book. Please include your student's name and teacher in the email. The challenge is posted on the library website and Facebook https://sites.google.com/rsu34.k12.me.us/rsu34-library/home?authuser=0
