Final Games/Matches/Competitions for Seniors:
Basketball - Men's - Friday, Feb. 19th v. MA - Women - Friday, Feb. 26th v. Orono - We will recognize the senior members before each game by announcing the player's name, where they are from, years of participation in sport - they will come to center court, receive applause, then return to the bench. We will also recognize each opposing team by asking them to come forward in a group and receive applause.
Swim - PVC Swim meet on Feb. 26th - We will recognize the senior members before the meet by announcing the swimmer's name, where they are from, years of participation in sports - they will stand at their chair receive applause. We will also recognize Orono swimmers at this time that are on the OTO swim team.
Track - Due to us not hosting a competition this winter, we will recognize them at the parent night (highlighted below)
Cheer - Ellsworth Invitational Taping Feb. 23rd - We will recognize them on the Livestream of the event and recording. Each member will be introduced, where they are from, years of participation in the sport.
OTO Hockey - Saturday, Feb. 27th v. PI - We will recognize the senior members before the game by announcing the player's name, where they are from, years of participation in sports - they will stand at center ice receive applause. We will recognize all members of the program at this time that are on the OTO swim team. We will also recognize each opposing team by asking them to come forward in a group and receive applause.
Senior Player and Parent Night Information:
We will hold a Senior Sports Athlete Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 27th. Session 1 - 2 PM - Session 2 - 3 PM - We will do 2 sessions to accommodate the numbers in all programs. This would be for OTHS Student-Athletes only.
The following will be the setup:
- Senior Athletes:
- Be asked to present in team gear - something representing the program they are involved with
- Athletes are allowed 2 parental figures (no exceptions due to numbers)
- Coaches:
- Will introduce the athletes at center court in Mackenzie Gym
- an introduction will include name, years in the program, after school plans, induction of people accompanying them - I ask that you have this ready for presentation
- We will have flowers to present to parental during this time and after your seniors are done, we exit the gym
- Will introduce the athletes at center court in Mackenzie Gym
- Setup:
- all parental guests will be in the big set of stands - masked and socially distanced
- Senior Athletes and Coaches will be center court facing the stands
- Everything will be live-streamed on NFHS – Request has been sent that this is an open event so you do not need a subscription - but if they cannot accommodate then we will live stream from CEN as well to cover the free presentation
- Mr. B. will do opening remarks
- Coaches will present Senior Recognitions
