The LMS winter season officially wrapped up last night with our basketball teams taking on the Nokomis Warriors. Although the outcomes of those games weren’t what we wanted, there’s a lot to be proud of this season. Congratulations to our players on a great season and thank you coaches for your dedication to our student/athletes!

Changes and Updates for the remainder of the Athletic week are in Red

Apologies to our Athletic Audience and Coyote Nation. In my absence, we have missed highlighting our achievements of the Athletes at OTHS, and for that, I apologize. We will get back on track here soon, and Coyote Nation highlights will be front and center!

LMS boys and girls basketball teams squared off against the Doughty Bulldogs to start their last week of the season. The boys B team was in the road where they fell short 31-26. The girls played home where the A team had an off night falling 42-26. The B team played well pulling off a 40-29 victory! Teams play their last games of the season on Wednesday vs Nokomis.

On Saturday, our girls' basketball team, currently ranked #2 in Class B, played host to the top-seeded Caribou Vikings. The game was a nail-biter with our Coyotes leading for the majority of the contest, but we could not hold on in the final frame, losing by a score of 36-34. We could very well see a rematch of these two teams in Bangor later this month! In the JV contest, our girls prevailed 35-34 as Linzy Heitmann sank two free throws with 4 seconds left to seal the deal. This game was also the Senior Game for our girls. Thanks So Much to Elizabeth Magoon, Isabel Francis, Christa Kanyana, Aaliyah Curtis & Lily Mickel for all that they have given to our basketball program during their high school years. We are Proud of All of You! Go Coyotes.

LMS Cheering took to the mat at the OTO YMCA showcase this weekend. The team was awarded “Best Stunts” for their efforts! Great job team and congratulations on a successful season!

The OT boys basketball teams made the trek to East Machias for a battle with the Washington Academy Raiders.
The first team kicked things off with a 45-42 victory. Our JV team was next up and came away with a 59-39 win. The varsity took the floor and won a hard fought back and forth game, winning 47-44 to complete the sweep. The boys move to 8-7 and collect a road win at a time when every victory matters, as the slimmest of margins currently separates all of the teams between 4th place and 8th place in Class B. Next up is a trip to Houlton on Thursday.
Great win, Guys!
