This is a reminder that this coming Monday and Tuesday (12/21, 12/22) will be in-person for our Thursday/Friday cohort. This is meant to give our Thursday/Friday students the same in-person time as our Monday/Tuesday cohort whose schedule included the two days before Thanksgiving.
Google is having difficulty all over the country. If it doesn't get fixed, we will adjust attendance and expectations accordingly.

Mrs. Fitzsimmons, our STEM teacher, has flickering power this morning. She sent this message for students and families for this afternoon...
If the meeting is not open by 1:05, it is because I have lost power. If I do not join due to a power outage please do the assignment that I assigned in Classwork. There is also a tutorial for this project in Scratch, please feel free to follow that if you need to. The assignment is scheduled to open for you at 1:05 in Google Classroom. As always email me with questions if you have any and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
We realize that many families are without power and internet. We will adjust our attendance and our expectations accordingly. Our annual Halloween outage waited until after Thanksgiving!
Two more days to fill Ben's bus!
All food collected goes to our RSU#34 resource center, located at OTES. We are having a homeroom competition at LMS, but we invite ALL to donate. Drop your food off at LMS, and we'll get the bus over here on Tuesday.
Dr. Sharon Klein, University of Maine Professor in the School of Economics, spoke to the Puffin Team today about solar energy. She was fantastic! Thank you, Dr. Klein.
Mark your calendars!
Our next PTA meeting is Wednesday, December 9, 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.

EJ Roach, Old Town's Director of Economic and Community Development, is looking for your perspective on recreational opportunities in our area. Please help us direct our opportunities by filling out this brief survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SQ9663C
Our conferences for November 2 have been rescheduled to Monday, November 9 with the same schedule at November 2, and the same links. A few teachers have other commitments on November 9, and will contact you to find a schedule a time to meet. Either way, you will be receiving a message/confirmation from your child's teacher.
Conferences scheduled for this Thursday, November 5 will remain the same.
Due to internet and power outages, our conferences scheduled for this evening will be postponed. New date coming soon.
We are still having technical difficulties sending emails through Thrillshare. We'll be looking into that on Monday. In the meantime, conferences are this week, Monday and Thursday, 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Students should attend these (virtual) conferences with their families, and teachers will facilitate them. If you requested a conference, you should have received an invitation, with a Google Meet link. If you have not, please contact your child's advisory teacher.
There seem to be some technical difficulties with our Thrillshare. We did send out the weekly letter (twice!), but it's not going through. We will continue to try to send it.
We are having some issues in the community with spotty internet. We will adjust attendance and instruction, as needed.
Dear LMS Families,
In July and August RSU #34 asked families to share with us whether they preferred in-person or fully remote learning for their children. A family that wishes to have their child participate remotely can ask to make that switch at any time.
Throughout the Trimester 1, we have also accommodated some switches from fully remote to hybrid learning, as space and staffing allowed. For any family that has made that request, we have added you to a waiting list that we review weekly. If you would like to be added to that list to be considered for Trimester 2, please let us know by Tuesday, October 27.
To make changes from fully remote to hybrid, or from hybrid to fully remote, contact Gert Nesin, Shane Barker, or Tracey O’Connell by phone or email.
Thank you, and please help keep the spread of COVID-19 slow by washing hands, wearing masks, and keeping distance!
Gert Nesin, Principal

LMS Community,
If you have time, please answer this (VERY SHORT!) survey that the LMS Parent Teacher Association has put together to try to figure out how to regroup during this exceptional school year. We are currently a small but strong group, with great support from the LMS administration--but WE NEED YOUR HELP AND YOUR IDEAS to move forward. Even if you just have a few minutes to contribute your opinion, please let us know what you think and how you want to be involved in the LMS community.
