There are 3 ways you can let us know. 1) Fill out and return the form below--either electronically or hard copy. 2) Fill out and return the form sent home with your child's report card. 3) Fill out the online survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FHV7GZZ You only need to do one of these. OTHS Save the Dates
Celebrate the OTHS Girls' Basketball Team! Our OTHS Girls' basketball are the Eastern Maine Champs! Friday at 7:00, they travel to Bangor High School to take on the AA Rams. When they return to Old Town around 8:30 - 8:45, we want to show them our pride and support with a community parade. You can park at the Bangor Savings Bank, Car Quest, the YMCA, and the old Sullivan's building to greet the bus as they come back into town. The bus will be escorted by the OTPD and followed by the parents of the players. You can honk and holler your window as they go by, and then hop in behind the bus to follow them to the high school. Because of pandemic rules, we cannot gather outside of cars or in the building at the high school. We'd love to see a big crowd showing Coyote Pride!

Due to vaccinations and some small changes in guidelines, we will be bringing LMS students back 5 days a week! 6th grade will return on April 26, 7th grade will return on May 3, and 8th grade will return on May 10. Fully remote learning will still be a choice, for families who would prefer that option. We have many details to work out, and will let you know when we have more of them to share. We are excited!

The week of March 8th is our last week of LMS Winter Intramural Sports. Due to a scheduling conflict, Monday 3/8 and Thursday 3/11 will be the only intramural days. Thank you to all the participants for their patience and following our guidelines. Stay tuned for LMS spring athletic offerings!

School is on for this week! Unless something changes, our in-person days are a go for this week, on the regular schedule. Our amazing nurse, Vanessa Koch, has been on the job all weekend talking to families and tracing COVID exposures. We are pleased to say that, as of right now, there have been no positive cases in the school. All exposures to positive cases happened outside of the school. We will continue to monitor those exposures, and update you if necessary. Due to the increasing cases in the community, we are going to postpone Intramural offerings until Monday, February 8. Our first goal is to keep students and faculty safe, and to keep school open. Thank you to all families for reporting exposures immediately and keeping your children home when they are sick or have been exposed. Your continued diligence is much appreciated, and allows us to keep our doors open. If you haven't lately, send Nurse Vanessa your thanks. Her job is challenging and non-stop during this time, and we are very grateful to have her leading our team.

Leonard Middle School will be remote-only tomorrow--Friday, January 29. Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing down in-person learning while we investigate possible COVID exposures. Anyone who has had direct exposure has already been notified. All students should follow their schedule for remote days.

Dear LMS families, Welcome back from winter vacation. We have had a great start to our week and are so happy to have all the kids returning in person and online. As is always the case the first few days back into the routine is a difficult transition. This being the case we would like to send along a friendly reminder to everyone of some of our in person and remote expectations. In person kids are doing a great job of wearing their masks and social distancing. Keep it up! We appreciate everyone's help to keep our community safe and allow us to remain in our hybrid model. It is important to remember that if you are not feeling well or anyone in your household is symptomatic for COVID, or awaiting a COVID test it is best to stay home and attend class remotely until everyone is well and it is safe to return in person. When you are remote, for any reason, please make sure that you are familiar with your schedule so you can check into class on time and remain in class for the duration of the session. While in class please try to keep cameras on throughout, unless you have permission from your teacher. This helps maintain the pace of class and allows teachers to better support kids by gauging attention and understanding. Also only use the chat for class purposes, never screenshot meetings, and contact your teacher if you have any questions, technical issues, or have to be absent for any reason. We appreciate everyone’s commitment to this difficult year and are eager for the day we can go back to normal, in school and in life. Until then, stay safe and let's make the best of the second half of this school year. Thank you, LMS

This is a reminder that this coming Monday and Tuesday (12/21, 12/22) will be in-person for our Thursday/Friday cohort. This is meant to give our Thursday/Friday students the same in-person time as our Monday/Tuesday cohort whose schedule included the two days before Thanksgiving.
