Weekly Update

Good Afternoon!

We hope you have had a good start to the year.  We have been so excited to see our students back in the classrooms!

Seniors

Senior Parent Night/Financial Aid Night

We will be holding a virtual information session on Thursday, 9/16 starting at 6 pm.  In the first part of the program Mrs. K.Ketch and Ms. Martell explaining our process for College Applications.  In the second part (Starting approximately 7) Mila Tappan from FAME, will take parents through the Financial Aid Application process.  There have been a few changes for the upcoming year, so this will be important for even experienced parents.  Parents who wish to attend should register by clicking here.  A link to the event will be emailed Thursday morning. We will also record this session and share it next week.

Yearbook

SENIOR PARENTS, please tell your student to join the Senior Yearbook 2022 Google Classroom. All the information they need as well as everything they will have to turn in for the yearbook will be found here this year.  If you have any questions about yearbooks and deadlines as the year rolls on - please contact Christina Turner @ christina.turner@rsu34.org.

PSATs

OTHS will be hosting the October 13th PSAT.  This is an optional test, paid for by our MELMAC grant.  Sophomores and Juniors who are interested in taking the PSAT must sign up by October 6th.  This is a firm deadline as we will need to arrange coverage.  The link to sign up is: https://tinyurl.com/OT-PSAT

Busses

There are a couple of busses that have to unload in front of the school.  Please remember that if their lights are on, you need to wait.

School Pictures

School Pictures are on September 29th.  More information to come!!

Laptops

Students who still need laptops can pick up their paperwork in the guidance office.  We will get students' devices as soon as we can.

Tardy to School

Just a reminder that the first period starts at 8:30.  We have been pretty lenient with late arrivals from drop-offs, drivers, etc. Students who arrive after that time will need to get a late pass and there will be consequences at 5 tardies.  (Students who arrive on a late bus are exempt)

Junior/Senior Release

Just a reminder if you have Junior/Senior Release, the expectation is that you are able to leave during study halls.  If you need to stay, you must check into the main office.  If you do not have transportation to leave on a regular basis, please see your school counselor to change it back to a study hall.  We are able to schedule the beginning and end of day release independent of the ones between classes.

If you have questions/concerns - feel free to reach out to us.
