You may know that Superintendent Walker is retiring at the end of this school year, after 17 years of service to the RSU #34 community. The School Board has formed a committee to conduct the search for RSU #34’s next Superintendent. Board members serving on the committee are Hunter Umphrey (chair), Moriah Geer, Howard Jack, John Milligan, Laura Sanborn, and Dave Wollstadt. Staff representatives serving on the search committee are Brenda Dahlbergh, Kerri Dexter, Jon Doty, and Scott Gordon.
We seek your input in the search process! Input about strengths, needs, and priorities can be provided via a survey, or via a community forum. The survey can be done anytime between now and February 4th through this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RSU34SuptSearch

OTHS Events - Jan 17th Week


Wrapping up athletics for Saturday, OTO Hockey 🏒 playing the Witches at the Alfond today… a little different for the Bears being away, but that didn’t matter in play - 5-1 victory for the Black Bears 🐻 - moving to 5-1 on the season.


🏀 Basketball 🏀 going 4-0 in the County today, Both programs walked away with solid wins - Girls JV win a 41-38 W Girls Varsity 57-46 W - Boys JV 55-53 W, Boys Varsity 55-53 W - Varsity games on Tuesday v. MDI


The Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams were in action today in a 5 team regular season meet at the U. Maine Fieldhouse.
The girls team finished 3rd in their meet behind Class A Bangor and Brewer and were led by junior Grace Willey with individual wins in the Hurdles & High Jump and senior Chelsey Cote with an individual win in the Shot Put with another personal best throw of 34'1"!
The boys team had a strong meet finishing 2nd, just 2 points behind Brewer and ahead of Bangor, finishing in front of the Class A Rams for the first time in quite a few years! The boys were led by junior Corbin Flewelling with individual wins in the Hurdles, High Jump & Triple Jump, senior Chester Turner who won the 55M Dash & Long Jump and junior Jorden Cote who was victorious in the 400M Run!
The teams will have another 5 team meet, including Bangor and Brewer, next Friday night back at U. Maine.


OT Wrestling kicks of athletics Saturday with the Westley duels today in the county at Fort Kent High School.... Sam C. was the only OTHS wrestler again and went 3-0 for the day! Next meet on the 20th….


Due to weather predicted on Monday - Boys and Girls basketball v. MDI is postponed and rescheduled for - Varsity Only v. MDI 1/18/22 - GV 5:30/BV 7 PM and JV Only v. MDI 1/31/22 - GJV 5:30/BJV 7 PM.


Due to predicted weather on Monday - OTO Varsity and JV are postponed v. Camden Hills - we are working on a makeup date at this time.


Lady Yotes in Mackenzie tonight welcoming the Crusaders of John Bapst - JV and Varsity walked away with commanding wins - JV 36-15 and Varsity improved to 7-1 with a 64-29 win - Off to the County we go…


JV Hockey 🥅 in action tonight v. Cony Rams at the Alfond - Team played a tough game but lost 4-1 - Saturdays game v. Brewer has been postponed and will be made up at a later date….


Exciting road game for the Black Bears 🐻 last night in Augusta - OTO pulls away an overtime victory with a Davis to Davis goal - 3-2 win over Cony in Augusta. Next game will be Saturday v. Brewer 6 PM at the Alfond, we are the visiting team.


OT Boys Basketball 🏀 on the road to Hermon tonight…. JV boys battled to a 36-32 loss to start the night. Varsity looked to improve to 6-3 on the year with a 61-45 W at the home of the Hawks… County trip up next for the weekend.


Last night, Wrestling at Dexter showcasing 1 OTHS wrestler Sam Charles - Sam ended up going 4-0 for the night at the Dexter invitational…. Next up Wrestling at MA

Boys Basketball 🏀 on the road to the county to face the Shires of the town! Exciting games all around, JV with back to back wins coming away with a 63 - 40 W on the road. Varsity with an awesome 77-76 W after being down by 15. Never give up!

The Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams both came away with first place team finishes today in their 8 team meets at U. Maine! The girls had 3 individual first place finishes from junior Grace Willey, a first place from senior Chelsey Cote with a personal best in the Shot Put and numerous other personal bests on the way to their win, while the boys received 3 individual wins from junior Corbin Flewelling and individual wins from Chester Turner in the 55 and junior James Cote in the Hurdles in their victory! The teams are back at the New Balance Fieldhouse next Saturday for this year's league Relay Meet.


RSU 34:: Schools in RSU#34 will be closed today, Friday January 7, 2022.


Mens Basketball 🏀 in Mackenzie tonight - Playing host to cross town rival Hermon - Yotes showed up for both games, JV 46-36 - Varsity on the 3 game winning streak as they out played Hermon 57-45 - move to 4-2 on the season…. Trip the county next as we go to the Shires!
